Re: New Kramers...

It was the $300 variety. I haven't tried the more expensive ones yet.

I remember when I used to go to Mars Music, the new Kramers first came out and that was the only place that carried them. It was the one with the more strat-ish reverse head and the skull tuners. Man, I'd play those and some import Jacksons, and I thought those guitars were so rad...that was IT for me! Good times good times...

I've seriously considered getting a 404SD in nuclear yellow, but I don't have a clue what the quality is like. I hear the pickups are absolute garbage.

I'm sure one of you guys has one of those neck thru ones, why not post some good pictures and a non-bias review. I've been very interested in them but I would really love to see pictures of the neck to body transition and a Jackson player's take on the thing.

                  Re: New Kramers...

I bought a neck off one of the MusicYo Pacer Series guitars once. It was SO bad that it scared me off the line entirely.

I really like the look of the 1984 Baretta, (the Charvel-look paint jobs), but haven't seen a really comprehensive and unbiased review of them....

                      Re: New Kramers...

I have played a few and the quality is pretty good for the price on some, and not so great on others. If you are used to setting up a guitar, and don't mind putting a little work into one, they aren't bad guitars. I wouldn't have one as my main player, but if I was looking for something to mount a synth pickup on, practice doing refinshes, use for the occassional alternate tuning, etc., I would seriously consider one.

I REALLY love my baretta FR-404 something. i'm into 1990-1992 old-school deathmetal and thrash.. like Napalm Death and Vengeance Rising in that time range. The pickups are my favorite pu's for that. I like them more then my Invaders, blaze's, and duncan dist's.

I guess this guitar is not for everyone. BUT IT IS FOR ME . I very happy about that too, cause they're cheap... and rock(at least for me). I'm not a newbe guitar player either. I started Rotting Records, a local label and recording studio at the age of 15

Yeah, James, I've heard good things about the Quad-Rail humbuckers. You've confirmed what I've read about them being great for the speedy types of metal I like. I'm glad you got here and have a Baretta so you can give reports on your MusicYo Kramer!
