• Kahler 2700?!?!? project guitar

The 2700 Spyder came put around 89' and was short lived. It is a decent trem but the spacing is unique so you will have to dowel and redrill the body to put a replacement on. The strings feed through the trem. It is low profile and I have had limited success in getting them to stay in tune after extreme wankage.

The 2700 and the Spyder are 2 different trems. The 2700 is an ultra crap trem, which has many parts made from plastic...........

That is not true. The 2700 is the spyder. So is the 2nd gen 2710 which Carvin offered in 1989 only. They are very similar. They were standard issue on the Peavey Vandenberg and the 1989 Fender HM strat. There is no plastic on those trems. They are fairly crappy though.

I've got three Spyders and none of them say 2700 on them anywhere. I thought I've seen trems that actually say 2700 on them.

I agree, I have never seen 2700 of 2710 on any of mine either. They all say spyder on them and according to Kahler and to Carvin I was told that they are either model 2700 or 2710.

this is NOT what is installed on my Ultra V which looks exactly like an OFR but is liscened/manufactured by Kahler. My Ultra is a 1990.

2700s are stamped 2700, and Spyders are stamped Spyder.....I wonder why?.........

So, after all this time I thought my Spyders were 2700's or 2710's. I stand corrected. Thanks guys. It still it a pretty crappy trem though. The weakpoint is in the knife edges. There are 2 on each side on my Spyders and the bind really easily on the bridge posts.
