  • ESP wiring

lately on my Lynch model skulls and snakes the single coil is making low hissing sound. i have check the wiring. everything is connected, this guitar has the push pull volume pot. when switched over to the demon there is no noise. but as soon as its pulled out for the single which is a esp 100 it hisses as soon a the volume is turned up. can one side of a push pull pot fail with affecting the other side? or did i miss something else? could it just be the pick up is failing? this guitar is from 1992 the first year this series was offered.

The neck pickup is a single coil... you're supposed to get 60-cycle hum from it.
I feel my soul go cold... only the dead are smiling.

the hissing sound has continued to get louder lately. this isn't the typical single coil hum.

              Maybe try cleaning the pot?
