  • Ibanez rg 27 inch scale guitar

I saw one today. I never knew they made such a contraption.Does anyone know anything about these? The pickups are V7(neck) V1(middle) V8 (bridge)Lo Trs II trem.I thought about buying it the price is right but would this one be easy to sell. The blue book does not list this model so I have no clue as to Exactly what it is.Looks to me to be a RG 570 no binding just dots.MIJ.
    Really? well screw Mark Twain.

Hmm. I knew they were making a long scale 7 string (K7, some Prestige models), but not a 6. Good for the down-tuning crowd, although it does change the harmonics quite a bit.

I wasn't aware of these in a 6 string either. Can you supply a link?

FYI, if it IS a 6-string Baritone, it's not part of the 2003 lineup. I just looked through it to make sure. The only 6 string Baritone in the '03 lineup is the MMM1MOL Mike Mushok model.

No I cant provide a link to it. It was brought to me for a tune up.There was no model number just the logo and RG on the face of the headstock. On the back of the headstock was a serial number and in very small letters japan.
It is a metallic grey color, unfinished neck rosewood board.H/S/H config V7,V1,V8.The lo trs II trem has a blued finish. On the truss rod cover it says 27 inch scale.
I went to their web site and no info at all and the bluebook of electric guitars has no info either. Its a great sounding guitar and is for sale at this time I just dont know if its worth the price he is asking, and if it would be some thing I could make a few dollars on.

I just dug out my 2001 catalog and here's what I found. The Prestige 7-string RG1077XL and the RG4721XL have the 27" scale.

And I think I found what you're looking for in the 6-string model with a 27" scale... that would be the RG470XL with Wizard II neck and Lo TRS bridge, V7 neck pup, S1 middle, and V8 bridge.

BTW, I believe XL means extended length, from what I remember reading somewhere.
