No problem. If I didn't get two catalogs off ebay last year with a Jackson catalog, I would have never known either. I wouldn't know my 7-string RG7620's model name either if the old owner hadn't told me what it was, as it's only got the RG designation on the headstock.
I feel my soul go cold... only the dead are smiling.

I played a used one in my local dealer's place before I ordered my RG1527. Honestly, I didn't really like it. Maybe it was the extended scale as I have short, stubby fingers. That is my only huess. I just didn't get a good vibe off of it. Hwever, the RG1527 is amazing. If you have the money for one of those, get one. Or you can find a used RG7620 for around $300 all over the place. I prefer a 7 string over the idea of a baritone as you get the low range without sacrificing the high end. My opinion.

Hmmm! very interesting Travis so in essence this should be a very low bottom end type of guitar? So 375.00 is not out of reasonable price range. It has all papers, tags and ohc.I may buy this one or at least go try it out anyway thanks.

The RG470XL is what I would consider an upper low end or low mid level guitar. It is definitley better than some others out there, but there are a lot of others that are much better in comparison. The RG1527 is what I would consider a low high end guitar. And it is essentially an update of the RG7620. The RG1527 has lesser pickups and a better trem. For some reason, the RG7620 has not held its value well. I compare them to the model series Charvels. They are well made and sound great but most people don't give them the credit they deserve. I have nothing against the baritone guitars, I just think that one would get more use out of a 7-string because of the increased range. If you like the down tuned stuff, don't do much lead work, and find a baritone you like for a reasonable price, by all means get one. However, if you like the versatility that the 7-string offers, I highly recommend picking one up.

Yeah I figured it was a no frills guitar.I've got the guy talked down to 300.00 for it.I was going to use it for alternate tuning and I figured a baritone guitar would be the way to go.7 string guitars do nothing for me right now maybe later I'll accept them but the necks are huge.I've got my JS30 tuned a step down right now and it sound killer. The ibanez will be a good back up.

Hey man, if you're happy with the price, the playability, and the options it provides you. By all means go for it. In my opinion a guitar doesn't need frills to be a great player. Cosmetics are nice, but I'll go for a less attractive one that plays great anytime. It sounds like you've already made your decision. Good luck.
