Re: New BC Rich custom shop?????

I'm not sure why you're throwing J/C in that list. There is absolutely still a J/C custom shop. The most you can say is they farm out much of the graphics work to Dan at GMW, and that's hardly anything to criticize. ...Or maybe you're just really commenting that you don't like that it's been moved into the Fender building? That doesn't equate to J/C customs being "built by Fender".

<font size="2" face="Verdana, Helvetica, sans-serif">The Jackon Custom Shop is CLOSED, it's gone, it's empty. I do equate Jackson's being built in Fenders own Custom Shop as being built by Fender. If Jackson started building Hamers in the Ontario facility, wouldn't you say that Hamer's are now being built by Jackson?

Well, I disagree. And probably most people would, too.

The same people are building J/C's custom shop guitars as before. And, basically, they're using the same equipment and tools. (I only say "basically" because of the rumors of them adding some new and improved stuff.) Also, as I understand it, they occupy a different, distinct and separate space within the building that also just happens to house Fender's custom shop. ...Only a few miles down the road from the former J/C location, I might add.

So how is it that Jackson's custom shop is no more? I could be wrong about some or all of this, but that's the general knowledge around here about the move. And, if it's accurate... Well, I'm sorry but, just because it has moved and is co-located within the same building as Fender's custom shop doesn't mean "Fender is building Jacksons". That' total and would be like saying Microsoft and Apple are building the same computers, just because they happened to share a building in the same office complex.

The jury is still out on what the new "Corona" custom shop guitars will be like. i.e., Whether any specs and/or quality has changed. But, whatever they turn out to be, they're still Jacksons.

Getting back to B.C. Rich.. It is a roll of the dice because you don't know who's making it. The first new Ohio ones I saw were really nice. Then other people started to complain about build quality, etc. There is no standard or quality control.

Personally in my opinion there is no more BC Rich. They should put an HHI logo on the headstock. I'll reserve judgement on the Corona Jackson's until I've seen a few. I think this winters NAMM will be key for both BC Rich and Jackson to see where they are heading. But I haven't seen one good BC Rich since the move. Some that had ok aspects like a nice top or a few nice tradional features. But they sure don't measure up to something like venomboy's widow. And these are pieces that HHI is boosting as fine new custom shop stuff and posting as such on their forum.
We must!
We must!
We must increase the bust!
The bigger the better!
The tighter the sweater!
The boys are counting on us!

Voodoo Guitar Works (or something like that) is the name of the shop that's building BCR's custom/USA stuff now.
