• Chandler?

Does anyone know anything about these guitars? I have a line on one...dinky style body, hss, 5 way, strange bridge with fine tuners (kinda like a traditional with only two screws to the body, but it's not floating). Rosewood board, banana non-tilt head stock, grover tuners. Pretty rough shape but could easily be brought around. The back of the neck has a decal under the clear, Chandler, San Francisco.

For the price I could pick it up for I could use it for firewood. Any help would be greatly appreciated. Thanks all.

Pick it up and work on it. Learn how to do fret dressing and refretting and all the crap you would never attempt on your good guitars. Then when the time comes for you to need to have somefin done to a guiar your going to restore or one of you favorites needs work you can do it yourself.

If you already know how to do everything, then dont buy it, and start making your own line of guitars!

Chandler's are great high quality USA made guitars. Are you sure about the headstock. I have never seen a banana headstocked Chandler. Are you sure it isn't a pointy ala Jackson headstock? If it is a banana then buy it quick because it is super rare. The Chandler bridge is high quality and if the pickups are stock they could be Monstertones which bring big money used. They are very similar to Seymour Duncan Quarter Pounders. It should have 1 vol, 1 tone and the tone might be a push/pull coil tap. They are great shredders and all the parts were handmade in California. Yours was made from ordered parts directly from Chandler and either assembled by the buyer or the shop they bought it from.

I've seen the bananas also but are kinda rare. I own two Chandlers and they are great guitars. I would take the neck off and make sure that the body is Chandler. you don't want to get stuck with plywood junk with a Chandler neck on it. Then again if it's as cheap as your making it sound, then the neck is probably worth the money anyway.

Thanks for the feedback. I'm going to head back to the pawnshop and do a bit more research on it.
