Re: KH2 keep it or ?
I've no doubt that some sig models are very popular and are in demand right now.
10-20 years from now, no one will care.
Sig guitars reflect the personality of the guitar player, not a guitar maker.
A LP, or a STRAT or a RR1 are UNIQUE, defining guitars. NOT special interest "sig" models.
What sig guitar, more than 10 years old, is worth more than a new purchase price, or even 70 percent of original value?
I can think of maybe.. 2, and none of them are ESP.
I can't imagine the day when a KH2 will be worth even 30 percent more than new.
Go price a strat or LP from even 84 on up.
ESP has/is always been a "copy" manufacturer. As such, potential collectability of thier guitars will always be in jeapordy.
Jackson, on the other hand, is a TRUE inovator, spawning generations of not only guitar players, but guitar manufacturing and NEW guitar styles.
Jackson/Charvel invented the modern, hot rod guitar.
ESP invented nothing.
Only now are Jacksons/Charvels SLOWLY becoming recognized as true collectable guitars.
You think ESP, whom have become succesfull by copying others will reach a similar status wihin the next 10-15 years???
I seriously doubt it.
I'm not saying a KH2 or OUIJA are not great axes, they are.
I'll take any bet that says they'll come close to a LP or US Strat in terms of "collectability"
