Re: KH2 keep it or ?

Yes, most of Kirk's guitars are neck thru. If you watch the Cunning stunts dvd towards the end you will see him play a bolt on LTD however. Still sounded good. I do believe the wavecaster is a bolt on also. Again I think the whole bolt on vs neck through thing is a little overated. My SL2H does have a little more sustain but is it enough to rip bolt on's? IMO no.Hell look at Yngwie, up until lately Iron Maiden and so on. I can honestly say the KH2 bolt on is incredibley fast and very easy to play. I like my Jackson, My Gibsons and now my ESP. I however wouldn't pay the $$$ for a new KH2 as mine was $875.00 with case and all the stuff. As for a neck thru ESP I'd rather buy 2-3 USA Jacksons for the same cash.

Hmmm...definitely, the ESP lines have been just stupid over the years, kinda like what Jackson's always done. Name changes for no apparent reason, reducing lines into other lines, axing models, then bringing them back named something else...frustrating! Hehehe...

Right now I'm looking at an ESP catalog from probably late 80s, early 90s. It doesn't have any date on it, but the guitars are the newer reverse-cut, opposite Jackson style, pointy headstocks. Very confusing, but actually the only guitars with the scalloped lower cutaways are the M2 models and the Horizon. I think I might have overstated the roundness of the KH2, though...I guess it is like the M2, more than the M1 in this catalog. The bevels on the edges of the guitar are just...hmm..."softer" I guess I'd say, than Jacksons. Though, I'd almost swear my friend's M2 Custom's edges are sharper. Who knows, those ESP people probably made them different based on whatever the cheapest router bit was at the time they needed to replace one hehehe.

M1 custom doesnt exist & the mirage became the m2. back in the day they also used custom to designate neckthru, deluxe was bolt on, the M1 was the expection, as was REAL custom ordered guitars.

Here is a pic of the replacement for the first explorer that James owned. He broke the headstock on the original and never picked this one up from ESP so I ended up with it.

If you look at it this way.

Your LP will pretty much always go up in value.

I doubt anyone will give a ratts a$$ about KH in 10 years.

Sig guitars as a whole don't hold value in the long term. (10 years +)

Les Pauls and Fenders ALWAYS do.

                      There ARE exceptions of course.

I will make a bet with you 2loud2old that 10 years from now percentage wise ESP limited run signature series will grow more than Gibson or Fender guitars. This is due to widespread counterfeiting of vintage Fenders as well as Gibsons. This isnt a Creed signature series where no one will remember them in 10 years this is a well established band thats been around for 20 plus years. Thus the price of the guitars will not drop in 10 years. In fact the KH2 Ouija guitar has increased in price over 200% in the last 5 years which a Fender or Gibson have never done in that short of a time. My .02 cents

Yeah, ESP has done some strange things. I remember when the Eclipse used to be a Tele shape and Scott Ian endorsed it. Now the Eclipse is the Les Paul shape.
