If I remember correctly the star was not your style. It is actually a very comfortable guitar to play while sitting but the high frets are trouble.

Since it is a Strathead and this is the JCF, Charvel did make a V and it looked good with a strathead and a trem.

I like the iceman body with binding but the classic iceman neck matches it better.

I would consider a bound strat fith flame top. Different from a strat but classic and good looking. I am itching for one myself so I am biased

Funny you should mention the binding and point me to that page - I was thinking the exact same thing and looking at that page earlier today. I guess great minds think alike Kevin!

I'm leaning towards the soloist with the contoured heal - the binding/flame top is the next thing to consider.

And you're right about the star - something about it just bugs me. I like the way they look but they just don't suit me for some reason.
