• Idea.... Custom Wolf using OLP body and Warmoth? Link inside

http://cgi.ebay.ca/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?...&category=2384

Pull it off, toss a Warmoth Wolf profile loaded down with locking tuners and graphite nut.

Is this foolish or could it work out. In the end I could change the pup, but the trem is fine for my needs.

Im sure I could get the neck to fit with a little help and 60$ towards my guitar tech.

Lemme know if im being dumb or if the idea has potential!

You can't polish a turd. You can wrap it in Saran Wrap and make it shiny, but it'll still be a shiny turd.

If you want an OLP as a cheap Wolfie substitute to play for a few months, I can understand that, but by the time you buy a Warmoth neck, change the pickup and have a tech cut the pocket if the neck won't fit, you've spent almost as much as buying a damn Wolfgang! Think about it!

I didn't see what they want for freight, but check MF and AMS; it might be cheaper
from them if they ship to Canada. I aso didn't check to see if it was new or not, just that their tech set it up.

Like I said, MAYBE worth spending $200 US
on as a placebo for a couple months, NO WAY worth it as a mods platform. Don't do it man, you will regret it, I guarantee it!

Thanks Lex...

Mf has refurbs for 109.00$ :s

im searching like a MADMAN for used wolf specials and cheap USA's at the moment. The market is cold, the ones on Ebay all want "primo" cash and arent open for reason.

I'll see if I can find a used wolf special for less then 400$

Is that do-able? Or would 500~ be more accurate?

Here in Sweden a used Wolfgang Special usually fetch about $500. I´m thinking they should be even more affordable in the States.

Someone was just selling the Korean Wolfgang for like 350.00 a little while back in the classifieds. Maybe a week ago?

That's funny Rich..

OLP's with a quilt..Music Go Round has ton of them all day @ 200.00. I'm sure they would be somewhat flexible if you're serious.. non quilts go for about 120.00 and could be had for 100.00 probably. Like Rich said tho.. after a Warmoth neck, nut install, hardware & labor...about moot.

I've got a purple one too.Its a great little guitar for the money try a pawn shop I'll bet you can score one for 100.00 or so.The necks are great as well light finish on the back raw on top.
I did my upgrade package on the trem and put a bone nut in place of the cheezy plastic one and it says in tune perfectly even under heavy trem use.The pickups aren't half bad either, they sound pretty close to the korean wolfies. The only thing I didn't care for is the size of the fret wire.6100 dunlop wire would be my choice.
If your wanting a cheap wolfie P.M. me.Let me know if you want a usa or korean model, floyd or stop tail piece solid or quilt top.I'll do my best to find you one.I've got friends that are BIG into wolfies, and they are always selling.
Really? well screw Mark Twain.

I have been looking hard at the MF olp refurbs. Even if the thing is a turd, you cannot beat that price for a beater or something to experiment with. I love the styling of the real thing, but who is to say that the shape will ultimately be comfortable for me to play. I would rather shell out 100.00 and be disappointed than to blow a grand or better on the real deal. Now all I have to do is sell my body and get some money

I had a trans purple USA trem model that I sold for 900$ a year or so back. TOTAL REGRETS.
