Are you sure you're not being to rash in your decision to get rid of it?
I mean, ultimately it's your choice, but you should consider that a scale and body change isn't something you adapt to in a week.

Many players do not feel comfortable in instantly adapting between two vastly different worlds of strat style - Les Paul.

Then again, it soundslike you adored the appearance, and were going to mod it to taste with a fret change and such. There are alternatives.

I used to own a '68 Les Paul custom back in the days when you could buy the original for 400.00. Weren't these the 'fretless wonders'? I wanted to change the frets out too, especially with some wear on them, they felt even more flat. I think I paid more for a '64 Gibson SG I bought at the same time also. I sold it for 450.00 in like '79..nowadays, it's worth almost 10x what I paid for it.

I believe the original "fretles" wonders were the 50's versions of the Customs..as they used wide/low frets on them...which made for very easy fingerings and runs.

As far as getting rid of the Paul....it is a personal preference, they hold their value well, and I am sure he will get something of comparable value for it.

It is strange to me going from the short scale to the 25.5" scale. The strings feel totally different.

Hi, Yes I decided to buy it because I always loved the les paul and I used to own couple of them long time ago.
in 1988 and 89,I had a Heritage Les Paul,a 70's les Paul Pro(2 P90s and Ebony fingerbard),a 70's Standard.I was more of Setneck lover at the time.

After more than 10years,I finally decided to go with the Les Paul again and you know what,it just doesn't do for me anymore.
I get used to play neck without finish on,jumbo frets with flat fingerboard and flat bridge setting and so on.
I thought of changing the frets,pickups but I don't want to ruin the guitar at the same time.

If I don't play it I just have it because I just feel like having it,I should let go and buy an amp that I realy want.
I need an amp that will do totally different from what my ENGL Savage 120 and My Jose Arredondo modified Marshall would do.
I need an amp that has real clean CH and fat lead sound (not ultra high gain I am talking here).
I don't want to name the amp here because I dont knwo if I am able to get it or not.
I have located these amps finally and negoiating with the owners.
