Is the one on ebay the one you are looking at buying. It looks kinda pricey. For about $150.00 more you can get a brand new one from Sam Ash and have 14 days to try it. It may have come factory fresh and not hung on a wall but it has been handled at this guys house. Warranty? If you are not looking at the one on ebay and just using it as a guide ingnore the above ramblings.

Re: I need help guys , have any of you played one of these ?
For what its worth, I have an Epi John Connolly model (the flames with maple fingerboard), a blem one from Musicians Friend for $459. It plays, feels, and sounds awesome. I was very pleasently surprized in the quality. Mine has a brass nut (from factory), so I don't have any nut problems. Intonation is geat. The neck is thin and felt more at home to me based on the Jacksons/Charvels/etc. I'm used to.
I just saw the Zakk one at Sam Ash at lunch, they had a $999 price tag on it. I didn't pull it down to play, but the thing I remember most was the the color of the 'white' part was a kinda yucky tan/yellow...just like the pics appear on the ebay one. I don't know if Zakks is that color and they matched it, but whenever I saw this in ads I was always thinking the white was more white. Even the Epi web page pic has it 'more white' than the ebay one.
Even the gold hardware was darker like the ebay one vs. the website pic, where the gold is brighter.
I dunno, but that color in person really turned me off from the guitar, which is sad as I like bullseyes.

Re: I need help guys , have any of you played one of these ?
As Gibson inflates their 'real' prices even further.
Isn't there a MIJ company that does a copy of the Zakk? Maybe it was Edwards (ESP)
I personally say, buy an 80's LS 60 or 80 Tokai for about the same money, or a Greco Les Paul Custom. Way more bang for the buck than an Epi, and I own a Epi Les Paul and an Alleykat. In comparison to a Greco or a Tokai, no contest.
But ultimately, it's your bucks. If I'm not mistaken, those models were available for under 600.00 easy at one point. I think 550.00 was once a Musicians Friend price.

Re: I need help guys , have any of you played one of these ?
yeah Zakks is that dirty cream color that gibson thinks is white lol I don't mind it , if I was ever gonna get any les paul shape guitar It'll be one of those Zakk epiphone's , cause I don't know if I'd play the ****er enough to buy a real les paul , but some of those epiphones are just complete crap , and they even feel cheap , but I got a feeling that the zakk sig series thingy will play pretty good it looks nicer than one of those goth series les paul epiphones and those things don't play that bad , acually in the last 2 years the epiphones I've played haven't been that bad , but some were just down right cheap , I remember when all the epiphone lines were just crap not to long ago 5 years ago or so but the new ones don't seem that bad , but still a far cry from a Jackson import ! //Steve

Re: I need help guys , have any of you played one of these ?
Steve,
I had one at home for a week and couldn't keep it in tune. The "g" string kept popping out at the nut and the tuners were crap. Those few things and the "decal" package were my only beefs...the thing played like a champ and those HZ's sounded pretty good. The neck was nice and slick and the rosewood was actually pretty dark.
I ended up buying a new LP Studio in Arctic White with an ebony board - I plan on having the Bullseye treatment done to it.Tarbaby Fraser.
