Has anyone played these guitars/basses? I think they look awesome and have such unique, forward thinking behind them... I've just never had hands-on experience. The idea of interchangable pickups sounds awesome but what does plexiglass sound like compared to wood?

Re: Armstrong "see-thru"
they are heavy, they make les pauls feel light. i think they sound OK at best. the changable pickup is kinda cool but only thier pickups work & no one has extras lieing around. the bridges kinda suck too. if you can find an original (clear)they are fairly expensive, the re-issues arent cheap $7-1000 they are grey lucite. cool looking but not worth it as a player

Re: Armstrong "see-thru"
I have a 1971 Dan Armstrong Lucite on the way to me right now. It has the hard to find 12 pole humbucker.
It should arrive on Monday. Just in time to take to the studio.....one more song to track Monday night.
I've been dying to know how they sound too (thus my purchase).
I'll post a report.
