    Re: Armstrong "see-thru"

I played it once back when John Sprung owned it. I didn't plug it in though. I would estimate the weight at 15-18 pounds. It played like any other '57 Strat I have felt. The neck felt slightly earlier to me, more like a '56, perhaps because its roots went back some time as it took several attempts to make the body, the neck was made with the earlier shapers. However, it was COLD. A guitar warms up in your hands, this thing didn't warm up until I handled it for a few minutes.

It is snow on a General Lee. It represents x-mas time and how as a kid every year for x-mas I had some sort of General Lee related item on my list to Santa.

The original Dan Armstrong Lucite guitars were built from 69-71 and had the switchable pickups. It only took about 10 seconds to switch the pickups. The guy from the Foo Fighters has one in his video's. Also Joe Perry has a few you can see in video's here and there. Just like most acrylic guitars, they are heavy as a beast. Mine sold on ebay for $1350. I had all the original paperwork and both stock pickups, one was a treble pickup and I forget what the other one was. I might still have some pics at home.
