Congrats on your new axe bro. I dig Gibson V's and yours is no exception. Good luck with it.

Those deans are BEAUTIFUL!!! There was one on Ebay 2 weeks ago. I ended up getting home from work late and not having a chance to bid on it! Damn. I am keeping a close watch.
All Hail Silverburst!

Hey, thanks man. I'm really proud of them. If you are still looking for one, I can hook you up with a guy on the Dean Forum who is selling his. (I think he still has it) Shoot me an email if you want:
You saw one on e-bay? Hmmm, there are only 2 people who were talking about selling theirs, but I didn't think any went to the bay. Thanks again.

Yeah...I've been away from the JCF for quite awhile, and I thought this would be a great thread to post that pic again. Glad you like it. Those guitars are mint...I never play them.

The original Antiguas were used to hide binding flaws on Coronado guitars (this was only in the late 60's). Then Antigua was brought back in 1977 to hide the butcher block bodies Fender was using. Every 70's Antigua I have stripped has had atleast 6-8 pieces of wood making up the body. Some had 12. They are now collectable for some unknown reason. The real rare Antigua is the late 70's "Marlin" finish which is a blue version of the Antigua. I only have seen one in my life and it was to strip the paint for a refin.

Yeah, I thought there was some kind of other story behind it but I couldn't remember exactly. I actually think the Antigua is kind of a cool finish... in an ugly sort of way. Never heard of the Marlin, though.
