Greg, what I mean is that there HAS to be some big item go on eBay at roughly the same time as the JCF has had some sort of problems. I'm not saying that the two were related, I'm saying the exact opposite. Coincidences do happen.

hmm that's weird. why would Dean not throw up a 30K bid and let it ride if he wanted it that badly. I'm would think he has the means to do so. in any case it would have been to the sellers benefit to let the auction run it's course. kinda silly i think, if it was me it would have taken a whopper of a backdoor offer to pull that.

Just found out about the Dean forum. Major server crashage over the holiday. They have a temporary forum up now, but you have to reregister and stuff.

And no, there's no word as to who got the 77 Z.

The Dean server crashed and they have the temp forum until Monday when it can be resolved. The crash effected a lot of the Dean site, not just the forum. IMO, Dean setting up a temp board was pretty cool.

I don't believe that the site crashing has anything to do with the 1977 Z. If Dean or Elliott wanted the Z, they wouldn't need to crash the forum to accomplish that. I don't believe that Dave would do it, nor have that much influence. Dean had bid on it earlier.

E-mail the seller and get the story. With the price steadily increasing, I can only think of two reasons why the dude would end it early. 1) A very high offer, which was higher than he thought the auction would bring. 2) To sell it to the original builder, Dean himself. I'd end it to sell it back to Dean.

If you find out the scoop, let us know.

Well no one currently knows who got it, but it wasn't Dean Z., Elliott or Dave. I guess the seller would not respond to Dean Z's e-mails about it.
