    Re: The next Charvel ?

As much I don`t care for Ed Roman, he is right about PRS, the newer big heel models are not as nice as the pre-heel from hell ones.
<font size="2" face="Verdana, Helvetica, sans-serif">"NONE" of the newer models are as nice as the 86-90'ish PRS guitars. (OK, maybe the pervertedly expensive private stock guitars.)

The newer "big heel" 22 fret models do in many ways SOUND better, because the pickups are spaced considerably further apart which greatly affects the out-of-phase settings and harmonics.

      Re: The next Charvel ?

I took the original question to be more along the lines of "who is the small, relatively unknown, done-by-hand shop that will eventually fade out and become THE 'underground' collectible in 20 years". Certainly PRS, Fender, and Gibson cannot fit into this simply because they're not going away, and their models are not all that affordable or rare (Fender has some affordable, but none that are rare).

And IIRC, Charvel was not the "we'll build anything you want" shop - hence Grover's decision to put Jackson on the head of Randy's guitar instead of Charvel, which had been limited to Fender and Gibson styles.
