  • Peavy V-type

I know that the old USA guitars are good.

I'm think this guitar looks great.

I know its probably Korean, but I'm not afraid of that, I have 2 Korean guitars that are just as nice as my import Jacksons ( no really, they CAN produce decent guitars when they try hard enough, not often, but sometimes)

I just think this looks cool, love the short scale .LOVE the Abalone.

When is Jackson gonna do this with the imports.???

It looks like it is based on the original Vandenberg Sig series. The high end Vandy's were neck thru. It is sweet looking for sure.

i personally would go for a brian moore i2000 series guitar. they are made in korea, but has quality parts like duncan p/u, schaller tuners, coil taps, etc...usually for under $500.
                  great bang for the $$$.

I believe that one's the limited edition Korean version. There's also a regular-production Korean (EXP) version w/o the body binding and a USA version that didn't last long at all.
Catapultam habeo. Nisi pecuniam omnem mihi dabis, ad caput tuum saxum immane mittam!

Actually, They turned the "limited edition" into the standard model.

This is the only V-type made by Peavy for now.

                              They cut out the USA.

This looks like an attempt to bring back the older Vandenburg at a lower pricepoint.

This has a neck profile closer to the originals than the earlier bolt-ons.

I spoke to them on the phone this morning, this is brand new, introduced this summer.

It seems to have better wood specs than your typical Korean axe.

                              Maple Neck-through with alder wings.

The tech guy I spoke to was a big fan of the USA series and is a little sad they are discontinued.

He did however, swear up and down that this latest incarnation is the "best import guitar they've ever made." His words, not mine.

A nice guy. We spoke about guitars, I told him I was a fan of Jacksons, he thought I would find the quality at least as good as whats comming out of Japan.

As far as the Brian Moore guitar, not quite my thing. I'm a Super-strat pointy head guy, it's my favorite style.
