Plain and Simple.
I do like the way it looks but I would miss the arch top with with bindings.

I like this one.similar color but too damn expensive.1957 made Les Paul in Cherry Red.

Yes, I have been checking some old Gibson lately.

That's sweet, and a little faded the old fashioned way! Is there much difference in feel between the arch top and the flat top? I haven't played a Les Paul in awhile and don't really remember the arch top feel. My Hamer Special FM is a flat top, so I'm assuming the Les Paul Special Faded would be similar. If I were to get one, it would probably be the faded black or yellow over the cherry, though.

Playing an arch top isn't big deal but flattop guitar without the cut(where you arm hits the body) is the problem.
Epecially when you sit down and play.
Butitis just in my case.I get used to play strattype guitars.
If you have a Hamer, shouldn't be a problem.

Okay, thanks. My Hamer doesn't have the cut either, it's just a big mahogany slab with maple top, but it's a double cutaway instead of single like the LP. I guess it should be okay. I've just had a big LP jones lately!

Toejam - I've owned Gibson Les Pauls and that Hamer you had. The Hamer was/is a better guitar. You might be able to find a better Gibson if you through a few dozen, but likely not. Most Hamer USA Specials are much better guitars than most Les Pauls.

Thanks, Pete. I do love the Hamer a lot, so maybe I should look for another Special then. Damn GAS setting in all the time!

The LP Special Faded is IMO, the worst of Gibson's Faded series, which otherwise kicks much ass. Plays like garbage.
