• New ESP Jeff Hanneman

I've just been on the ESP web site and Jeff's new signature guitars have floyd roses, instead of Kahlers. have a look for yourself http://www.espguitars.com/sig_jeff.htm

Jeff didn't get swaztikas on it? I am surprised.

Unimpressed by the guitar itself though. I don't need to pay twice as much for a KO of a Dinky. As an ESP, it's just Kirk's KH-2/KH-602 with different inlay and a regular headstock.

<font size="2" face="Verdana, Helvetica, sans-serif">No, Jeff didn't get swaztikas on his. He had the SS inlays. The new S and key inlay on this model looks kinda dumb, but I guess ESP wanted to get away from the whole German SS thing.

Oh well he can't expect much for a rip-off of Kirk's model

Ever notice how they NEVER finish their website before the new year comes up? Not like it matters, but that always bugged me >.o

Just to play devils advocate here, what has jackson done lately that is so orignal or earth shattering? Reversed sharkfins, remove a floyd and add a hardtail and call it a new model? I think the electric guitar is so refined now there is really nothing left for the guitar companies to do but alter existing models. Ohh i forgot jackson did make a roswell with a hardon...

                    Re: New ESP Jeff Hanneman

Maybe I'm biased, but for what is probably going to be a sub $1,000 guitar, for it to have real EMG's, an original Floyd and an ebony fingerboard, it seems like a damn good guitar for some kid to get their first taste of a quality instrument, because the casual Slayer/Hanneman fan isn't going to spend over $1,500 for the custom shop version. My only complaints are the inlays are not the Slayer eagles like Kerry used to have on his ESP KKV, and that the LTD body is maple. Why not alder or mahogany? And when was the last time Jeff used a Floyd Rose? I've never seen him use one.

evol the strat head is a copy of of the original charvel strat which is a copy of the fender strat.i happen to own one of the old stratheads. is that not a copy? the 24 fret rhoads is that not a soloist with the rhoads wings installed. i'm not dissing jackson but, it cracks me up how many people on here attack esp( yes i know this is the jcf) but it gets old seeing esp dissed everytime they're mentioned on this board. very similar to the fender remarks that are always made.

                          Re: New ESP Jeff Hanneman

Jeff was the reason for me to buy my black SL2H. I'll never come to terms with the fact that he went for ESP. I bet Jackson would do anything he asked for, but he didn't ask I guess. Anyway, I think the S-S key looks ugly. Other than that I don't see anything special in that guitar. Oh, the price, right?

<font size="2" face="Verdana, Helvetica, sans-serif">Hey at least Jackson has models like the Rhoads that are original, and I think all references to Fender's strat are now validated by Fender owning Jackson, and it's Fender who put the Charvel strat-head back in circulation. How many original models does ESP have? That plastic devil-girl piece of shit and.........? Their whole empire revolves around paying artists to play ESP's while trying to keep them playing by trying to convince them they're still playing an SG, King V, Soloist, etc. that they started off with by making knock-offs of such instruments.

<font size="2" face="Verdana, Helvetica, sans-serif">That is called capitalism. That is why they aren't owned by Fender....yet. If they keep signing has beens from the eighties they to will be sold to the highest bidder. Most of the ESPs I have owned are from the late eighties to early nineties. They have all been Lynch models of some sort. That era of ESP the quality was superior and they stood behind their work. I had a new tiger that the volume pot went out of. Called ESP in new york I shipped it out it was back in a week.
