• 1987 Kramer Flashback

I ordered this brand new within a week of seeing the Guitar Player magazine ad. I told the guy I wanted one "exactly" like the red one in the ad. Took about 1 month to get it, and I think I paid $685.00 w/case. A few weeks after I got it, I noticed mine had 21 frets, and the guitar in the ad had 22. I called Kramer, and the very first person I spoke with informed me I received the wrong guitar, and to bring it back to the dealer and they would send a replacement immediately. Just the fact that they were aware of it before I even called, I figured maybe I had something special. I never did follow up on that. Anyway, I haven't looked at it or played it in years. I just gave it a complete once over, and it rocks! I'll be keeping this one out for awhile

Did he ever play that in any Cars videos? If he did, what color was it?

Wow, I don't remember those. They're a lot like the Charvel spectrum/Model 8 (which in turn were like the fender Bass's). Thanks for sharing!

I believe that 21 fretters were the norm for EEs.

It was inspired by JB....deatils here:

Holy Shit! That's freaky. I was watching VH1's Hits channel this morning and I saw an old cars video, I didn't catch the song, not one of their more popular ones, where he was playing that axe. It was the band playing outside on a dried up lake bed. Cool looking axe.
