...about this strat body for making a Dave Murray replica? I placed a WTB post in the classifieds for a black body and I guess no one has one to sell. Do the Mexican bodies compare decently to the USA bodies?? How about his BIN price???

hey, it's painted, it's Fender, the routs are almost what you need (increase neck pu rout), all for 127? hell yeah, do it. try a warmoth for that price...nope! do it!!GEAR:
some guitars...WITH STRINGS!!!! most of them have those sticks like on guitar hero....AWESOME!!!!
some amps...they have some glowing bottle like things in them...i think my amps do that modelling thing....COOL, huh?!?!?!
and finally....
i have those little plastic "chips" used to hit the strings...WHOA!!!! -

One sugestion is find a fender dealer in your area and ask if they have any mexican strat bodies laying around.Some times they have the trem screws drilled wrong,or the strap button locations are wrong or boogered up in some way.Or A customer finds a flaw and returns it,then the dealer swaps the bodies to satisfy the customer.
I have purchased lots of the mexican(poplar)bodies for project guitars and average price 75.00 to 125.00 depending on color and condition of course.Lots of times recieved the neck plates and screws in the deal.I see a lot of the mexican bodies with the trem mounting screws drilled at a angle all you need to do is dowel and redrill and you're good to go.Give it a try and see what happens.I've done this so many times the fender dealer calls me when he feels he has too many laying around,Clue here is he gets more $$ if he sells it to me than credit from fender. Too expensive bro.. I have bought many Fender Mexi bodies for between 75.00 and 90.00. $127.00 is top dollar IMHO..Comment
