With Ed Roman I've read here that he's
charged people's creditcards w/o permission, sent out incorrect items and not wanted to exchange them, and tried to hire at least one member here (WarriorX7) to work in his counterfeit guitar shop.
He took Ken (WX7) on a tour of his secret back room shop that was behind his front
shop. Just sounds shady all around,
from what I've heard. It would just suck
to be forewarned and still get screwed.

Stewmac also has neck-through blanks, and again you can get the unshaped "paddle" headstock so you can cut any shape you want.
<font size="2" face="Verdana, Helvetica, sans-serif">actually, the carvin ones are also the stewmac ones... the only thing i don't like about them is that you're stuck with their scale length (25"), you can onmly have 24 frets, and i believe you have to have dot inlays, you can't opt for no inlays.

if they offered a few different ones, i'd try one out.

also, if any of you guys got the new stewmac catalog with the flametop bodies on them, they're from mighty mite...not that it's a bad thing, but you can find them cheaper than what they offer.

I too went in the rear shop of East Coast Sound/MM. Thats where the Les Paul conversions were being done and there was many BC Rich guitars in various stages of completion back there at the time. His head builder at the time was a guy named Barry Lipman.

I see your point Sully; didn't really occur to me that those were drawbacks because I LIKE 24 frets, 25" scale and dot inlays! Of course not everybody does, but sheesh!! great price and those are some nice necks!

STAY AWAY FROM ABSTRACT GUITARS! I have my own reasons for not liking Ed Roman, but a few months ago I happened to see a Sandoval-type "blank" on his site. So I called and ordered it. Then I got another call from Ed, telling me that the picture on the site wasn't an actual blank for sale, it was a picture of what they could make me.(wasn't worded that way!)So I said never mind, I didn't want to wait around a few months for one to be made, I just thought it was there in stock. I forgot who I was dealing with. Lo and behold, next month there's a credit card change for $1,000 from "Ed Roman Guitar King". Not only did I NOT buy the guitar, but that was $400 MORE than the price he quoted me! I had to call my credit card compnay and contest the charge. I did get my money back, but still! If I didn't learn to stay away from anything he's involved in 15 years ago, I was sure reminded this time.
