Maybe a year ago I jokingly said that the next Ibanez Signiture Series guitar would probably be a Darron Malakian (System of a Down) Signiture Iceman. Well..................it happened! Figures. Check the newest guitar mags to see the add.

That's too funny! I remember when you said that. I've also seen his new signature guitar in all the mags, and it does look kinda neat. I feel my soul go cold... only the dead are smiling.

Which is fucked up, because the Iceman was Paul Stanley's sig model, but now he has a Silvertone sig model

The guitar isnt't bad...but I have ibanez-phobia
These days every guy who has a popular band has a sig guitar, even if he doesn't play nothing special.
What disgusted me the most was seeing a Good Charlotte guy with a ernie ball...

Re: I must have ESP or something.....
I saw an interview with Daron, and he had a baritone Iceman that was a slightly different shape to the regular ones. Is that his new sig model?

Re: I must have ESP or something.....
Kamo-Good point. He said not too long ago that he and Ibanez were going to put out an Iceman much like his current sig model with a limited to 100 series with custom paint jobs done by his dad.
Zeegler-He plays the scaled down model or variation of the Iceman. He could very well have a baritone, I wouldn't doubt it. He also records most of their albums with a Les Paul. His new sig series is a basic Iceman like the ones Ibanez made in the 70's for Paul Stanley. 2 volumes, 2 tones, dual buckers, LP style pickguard, mahogony body, etc. Not a baritone at all.
Darron has played the following:
Fender Big Apple Strat
Jackson RR1 w/Gibson 500T and 490T's
70's model Iceman (2 or 3)
Gibson LP Standard
Smaller scale variation on the Iceman by Ibanez hopped up with Gibson pickups.
I wouldn't mind getting one of the new Darron Malakian sig Iceman axes. I am an SOAD fan big time, but his sig Iceman is alot higher in quality than the Iceman models of the recent past. I've always kinda liked the Iceman. The ones I've tried in the shops were cool and were very playable strapped on or sitting down. I might get one.
