"Adagios guitar sound is pretty good.
Who knows, maybe I'll get to try one out first hand some day .."
And the info on the 7 String... go to Adagios site, or Stephan Forte's and click on the equipment tab

Re: Lag guitars?

Classic Axe always has some great instruments in stock--he carries Dean and D'Angelico. But the ones I like are always $1500+, which is why I'm more of a used guitar guy.

I got my old 650xl from him. He had it on consignment there for YEARS, and I finally grabbed it dirt cheap. Most of his customer base is country and blues guys, so he has a hard time moving the 'pointies'. I don't think he buys them much anymore, which is one reason I don't go there as often. I wouldn't mind a $2000 jazz box, but I'm really not interested in a PRS or Fender, though he has some beautiful ones.

Ah, so YOU got the $199 white 650XL - correct? I went back there to buy it after a Model 6 fell through for me, and it was gone.

With a little TLC - it needed a setup bad, from what I remember - I bet that's a nice guitar.

He had a SC Strathead in a green/yellow bullseye back in '95 or so that I didn't buy for $500. I'm SUCH an idiot.

That should be a SD Strathead in the post above. Damn editing time limits.

Wayniac -

That's an official "Duh" from me. He does have good tone - although Readman outshines everybody in that band - and the guitar looks pretty cool...

Hmm. It's almost tax time, and I get to deduct two mortgages worth of interest. Hmm...

Re: Lag guitars?

Well, a kid, first off, but we'll see how much free cash there is after that.

Actually, at the point, I'd like another good seven string. To get what I want on a production model - Soloist/strat shape, neck thru, routes for Duncan-sized pickups, and a tunamatic - I have to buy an ESP Stephen Carpenter 7 string. (Not the LTD long scale, the "real" ESP one.)

Any other ideas?

Re: Lag guitars?

The one Carvin 7 (747 I think) I played was real nice - especially for the $$.
I like the playability of the Ibanezes (ducks flames), but they typically sound a little "thinner" to me when compared to other guitars.
As far as other production 7's.... you might be able to look at one of the higher end Fernandes - Sean from Exhibition had one on the tour he did with Fates - played and sounded great, and it was stock.
Otherwise, you can keep an eye out for used Brian Moores.. that one I sent you on eBay would have matched your soloist!
The Conklin basses are good, though I have not played their guitars.... hope that helps

I'm looking to sell my Ibanez RG7620 7-string since I don't play it that much. It's dark red (Vampire Kiss) with the beautiful UV1000 case. The guitar has a few dings and paint chips on it, but it was like that before I got it. Seems that happens quite a bit to Ibanez finishes.

Yeah, he does look like a little black panther. His name's Lucifer, and he's a little over 2.5 years old now. I got him in September 2001 when he was about 4.5 months old.

How much for the cat?

Seriously, while I appreciate the offer, I only really want a 7 string with a Tunamtic, preferrably with strings through the body.

I just want to upgrade my backup. I've got a LtD H207, but I'd like something better. Of course, the only non-custom shop upgrades I can find that meet my criteria - I don't like flatmount, strat-style bridges, and I don't want a Floyd - are the LTD H307, the Schecter 007 Elite, and the ESP SC 7.

I was hoping Jackson would make a run of 7 string Soloists, but that didn't happen.

No problem, I figured I'd offer it up, since I don't play it that much. I don't mind the Floyd, but I don't really use it as much as I used to and also seem to now prefer TOM bridges or hardtails more. I think I'll eventually get a Carvin DC727 or DC747. Carvin is now actually offering the new M bridge which is string-thru TOM on most of their 6-string models. Not sure if it's available yet on the 7s or if they will be, but that would be pretty cool!
