I was considering getting this?
http://www.musicyo.com/product_specs.asp?pf_id=002

these are mail order only so i need to know from those who own them, for the $329 is this a good axe? i would be upgrading it with USA duncans, and maybe a OFR down the road?
I need to know how low the action can be set on these neck thrus? someone told me they have a unusal
metal bar under the bridge where the post's mount?
this is supposed to get in the way if the action is set too low?

Model 5's and 6's can be had on eBay for that amount of money. I've read mostly good things about the MusicYo Barettas, but I know for a fact that the Model 5 and 6 are top-quality guitars for which no excuses need be made. They are really a steal at the $300-350 they have been going for on eBay lately.

Just a note.

The Model series guitars, especially the Neck-through Model 5 and Model 6 are exceptional imports.

They truely are of the "Old-School" style and compare well to the US made Soloists of the era.
(Same hardware, similar wood and construction technique.)

So, while the Kramer is a decent enough guitar..

The Charvels offer much more for similar cash.

I have a Baretta and Striker. They're both great guitars (esp. for the money), but the Baretta has really been growing on me lately.

My Baretta has a Duncan Distortion/Jazz combo in it that really makes a big difference.

I haven't had any problems with low action...I can just fit a 1mm pick under the low e at the 12th fret, and no fret buzz.

With that being said, however, plan on doing an extensive setup on the guitar when you get it. Both guitars were set up horribly when I got them, but after an hour or so were quite playable.

Incidentally, if you don't mind waiting, wait until they're on sale. I got my Baretta for $220 with sales/coupons.

Anybody ever try the US Collection Barettas? Jack.

I currently have 1 US Collection Baretta and 2 404S/D's. The US Collection version does not play any better than the standard 404S/D. Now that they don't even have Duncan pickups, the only thing better on them is the OFR. I don't think they're worth the extra money. I've owned 5 neck-thru Barettas and the standard 404S/D's have all been excellent after a complete setup.

Thats a great guitar for the money.

I had one for a while, I enjoyed it but sold it when I got my Model 6.

I had no problems with low action.

Beware, you will have to do a major set-up on it, it comes from the factory in shitty shape.
And sometimes the fit an finish can be rough compared to Jackson.

That said, it's the cheapest NEW neck-through I know of.

Of course, if you save another $40.00, you can find a Model 5 or 6, they ARE better.
