It looks like an S540LTD to me too. Is the hardware gold? What type of finish is that? It almost looks like a stained finish. There were some early 540's that had natural stained finishes. I believe the 1st 2 digits indicate year which would make it a 1988 which is a very early Saber. I am not 100% sure about that. It also might be a 98. PM me and let me know what he is looking to get for it.

it appears to be a 540 to me. the ltds had the "custom made" inlay at the 21st fret. i'm thinking maybe late 80's or early 90's. looks like it's in really good shape though. should fetch a good amount. i'm gonna test the market one day and put mine up for sale.

<font size="2" face="Verdana, Helvetica, sans-serif">All '88 S guitars had micro-toggles, not 5-way blades. Also, I've never seen a stock 540 with bound fins AND S-S-H. The LTDs (which had the fins and binding) were all H-S-H. It's almost like an aftermarket neck. (On a related note, does it the have AANJ?) It is very possible for it to be original, though, as there are numerous "test" models, custom pieces, and guitars that were released in very limited numbers that never made it into catalogs. On a related note, does it have AANJ?

Looks like a 540 to me. I had a 540 radius but the inlays were dots on mine.
