<font size="2" face="Verdana, Helvetica, sans-serif">What do you mean "go all rockabilly"? I am Mr. Rockabilly. That's all I play.
Ok, maybe it's not all I play but I play a lot of it.

Ok, I only know one rockabilly song and yes, it is Stray Cat Strut. I think the salesman got tired of that last night .
Seriously, I'm not going all rockabilly or anything - I wish I had those chops though, some of that stuff just kicks ass. This guitar is actually a great blues/rock guitar. Plus it's purple .

I love Gretsch guitars, especially the White Falcon. I like playing ska on them for some reason, and of course they're great with a Roland Jazz Chorus amp and a delay pedal for new wave stuff.
ok what does g.a.s. stand for? i gather it means you bought a new guitar but what does it really stand for? and remember before ya laugh the only dumb question is one not asked lol
Hey Tim, sweet geetar - I picked up a Stray Cats disc a while back (Greatest Hits or something). Anyhoo, ya know where I can find accurate tabs of Stray Cat Strut or some others?

<font size="2" face="Verdana, Helvetica, sans-serif">I don't know of any particularly good tabs for it. I know it pretty much note-for-note - if there's a part you want me to tab out for you I'll be glad to. The changes are straightforward, here are all the chord patterns:
Main verse:
Cm Bb Ab G
Alt verse:
Fm Eb Db C
Bridge:
Fm7 Cm7 Fm7 D G7
Setzer mixes up the chords quite a bit. Live he changes the chord inversions but plays the solo pretty much the same as the record. Toss in 7's and 9's at will and plenty of chord inversions - IOW, this ain't a barchord bonanza tune .
While we're on the topic, do you know of any good tab software? I've been wanting to try using my MIDI rig and Cakewalk Sonar to see how well it can do tab.

Have you tried mysongbook.com for guitar pro tabs? I know that they have 6 or 7 Setzer songs including Stray Cat Strut and Rock This Town. I don't know how accurate they are, though. If you don't have guitar pro software, let me know and I'll print em and send em to ya.
