Re: holy crap have you guys seen these
Is that new with the reverse headstock? I think MusicYo has been making those for awhile now. Kramer first made those in the '80s, I think it was part of the Focus series, with the standard headstock. I saw a red one back then and almost bought it.I feel my soul go cold... only the dead are smiling.

Re: holy crap have you guys seen these
While I have no experience with the Vanguard, I have bought a couple of guitars from MusicYo, and I have been very, very pleased. I purchased a Striker a couple years ago, and a Baretta PRO II this year, and I had no problems with either one. The Striker was under $200, so I didn't expect much, but it is a great guitar for the money. I kinda like the quadrails, they're great for metal, and I would assume that's what a V shaped guitar with a "nuclear yellow" finish would be used for anyway. No finish problems, good neck, no defects. I did set it up after I got it, but why wouldn't you after it's been in a box in a warehouse and then shipped across country?
I got the Baretta for $299 on their $300 off special before X-mas. This is one sweet guitar. It's a neck through with Duncan PU's and an OFR. Setup on this one was pretty good, I didn't even fool with it for a while. Great tone, great neck shape, no defects at all. You gotta sign up for Yo's mailing list, they send out deals like this all the time. They were selling the Vanguard PRO with Duncan Custom/Custom and Pearly Gates PU's and an OFR for $329. I almost got that one too. Wish I had now.
The Vanguard, as well as most of the Yo guitars, get good reviews over at Harmony Central. Check there for more unbiased feedback than you're likely to get on this forum.
As far as dealing with Yo, I've never had any problem, and their shipping is super fast. I haven't had to return anything, but I know a couple of people who have returned something that was damaged, and they always gave a full refund or replacement and usually threw in something to boot.
I bought a Jackson DK something or other (I can't remember HSS, reverse headstock, lic. Floyd) from Musician's Fiend a couple years ago, and I did not have nearly as good an experience, and I paid as much for that one as the Striker and Baretta together. When I finally got the guitar (a month after I ordered), some assclown had thrown the whammy bar in the box, totally unsecured. The wrenches for the floyd (if you wanna call it that) fell out in the box, and the whole works got jammed in the strings, breaking two of them and scratching the back of the body and the fretboard. Talk about a bad setup. Then when I called MF, the guy they had answering the phone gave me alot of attitude about it and suggested that I just wanted a discount, and that they were out of that model anyway so I was outta luck. Oh yeah, and the pickups sounded like shit, even compared to the quadrails.
Now, I love Jackson's and Charvel's (and I want one of the new Charvels bad), but I don't swing off FMIC's nuts like alot of people. For the money, I'd take one of the Yo Kramers over an import Jackson any day.
So, I'd say go ahead and get one of the Vanguards, I don't think you'll be disappointed. And if you are, they'll take it back. Or you could wait for another sale on the Vanguard PRO's, cause for $329 that's a steal.

Re: holy crap have you guys seen these
Those 1984 guitars off Yo were a steal, thats for sure!! Was tempted with one myself.
Its the same with any company really, some bad some good experiences...
The guy from my local guitar shop ordered a Striker off Yo, it took 6 weeks to come from the USA to UK, when he got it the fretboard seemed to be 'peeling' at the edges, and the neck was shaped like a banana. So he sent it back, got a 2nd one, which was fine except itd been shipped somehow with the whammy bar attached and pushed down UNDER the strings and was all tangled
Also a the shop ordered a Tobias(think thats the make?)bass from there for a customer, it came with badly fitted\finished frets which made it near impossible to play comfortably without a fret dress etc..it was a nice instrument in the end though!
Pays your money you takes your chances as always with any online shop,id probably NOT buy one off Yo and go for an original Kramer, as they are generally pretty cheap anyway and i can play it first etc.
i do own a Jackson but its been in its case for ages as i've got a Musicman Silouhette which plays the balls off anything ive owned

Re: holy crap have you guys seen these
They've got several models at $199 right now; I guess they're unloading unpopular colors and guitars with fixed bridges. I wish they made a Baretta with the maple board, non-reverse headstock and Floyd.
They have that setup with fixed bridge on special at $199 too! If it had a Floyd I would be all over it, but $199 for a decent neck-through guitar is still pretty unbeatable! I'd go for the one with the rosewood board, reverse headstock and D-tuna, which is also at $199, but they don't have it in red! Oh well, not like I need another guitar, I should thank 'em for not having just what I want, when I don't need it anyway!Ron is the MAN!!!!

Re: holy crap have you guys seen these
...I wonder how crappy they can be ? they look nice and i bet they would play better than those made in india Jackson 24 fret js30rr's . but yeah it would suck if they shipped it and it was falling apart , I would send it back forsure . but do you notice all the wood is canadian and american product ? where are these made does anyone know . that rr wanabe vangard thing is looking pretty tasty to me ! but I don't like that pickup config , it's kinda rude ! but that satin blk finish is nice , to bad they don't have any left . //Steve

Re: holy crap have you guys seen these
Yeah, the regular Yo Kramers are completely made in Korea. As for the US Collection, the neck and body are made and finished in Korea, the hardware isn't, and the whole thing is put together and setup in Nashville.

Always remember in the end...you get what you pay for...
Sure...you can pay $299.00 for a nice LOOKING axe...but it's either going to play like shit, sound like shit, or both.
For low end guitars...if I were to buy one just for amusement purposes...my money will still always go to the lower end Jacksons. Still the best bang for the buck (IMO)!

Re: holy crap have you guys seen these
Greg Crowe has some of the cheapo musicyo kramers... and I hate to say it, but they are head and shoulders above what the equivalent priced jacksons are/were. I don't know if Greg's are mutants or something, but they were giggable instruments for sure.
