Well the blue book dosen't say anything about what wood it is made of but vintage guitar guide says alder.Blue book price is quite low a 60% is worth around 300.00 80% around 400.00.The one I found is priced at 700.00 which seems a tad high,but as we all know the blue book is not a real good guide to go by.I thought some of the L.P.gurus here might know at little about these L.P.s.I like it its cool as hell but I don't want to over pay. 300-400 sounds right to me. If ya think about it who really wants an Alder Les Paul? Not me. If I want Alder I'll by a Strat. I want a Les Paul for it's tone which is priduced by its Mohagony and maple body not an alder one. Although the new Voodoo Les Paul Studios are Swamp Ash they seem kind of popular. But Not as much as a STD or a regular Studio.

Well I was thinking of picking it up just because its a little different and they only made them for 2 years.But you are right the tone will be much different.I've not played it yet and it may blow in the tone dept.The dealer will have to lower his price to get me to buy it. Here's a picture of my Les Paul:



It's an artist promo guitar from the early 90's. It's built like a tank and sounds great. The really cool thing is that the neck profile is very close to a Jackson neck.
