I haven't played that particular model, but the import Deans in general are very good for the money. I think that one was just revealed at NAMM a few weeks ago. It's a new one.

I had a Dean EVO 60 gold top with 2 P-90s and was well pleased with the quality.Mahogony body and neck.The finish was flawless a fine playing guitar.The only drawback was the 3 way toggle I replaced it with a switchcraft and she works great.Well worth the money.

Yeah, I've seen those Dean Gold-Top EVO's on e-bay and almost bought one. But I've been sticking to mostly the vintage USA models. The guitars in my avatar are all Deans, matter of fact. [img]images/icons/wink.gif[/img]

For 189 bucks, can it be a bad deal?Spend a hundred bucks on some new pups (assuming they suck)and you could have a nice "poor man's les paul". As long as the neck construction is decent, and the hardware is ok, a solid chunk of mahogany with two humbuckers can't really sound bad can it? I'm gonna go check them out....

Ok, I just found them at MF for 99 bucks! get this, the case-109! I don't ever remember seeing a new guitar that cost less than the case to put it in. Strange.

Ah, yeah those are the ones Dean and Elliott were talking about right before NAMM. Dean Z made a post a few weeks before saying that there was going to be a $99 guitar in the new lineup. Wow! That is pretty inexpensive.
