Wondering how the CE-24 bolt-on model compares to the Custom-24 or Standard-24 models that are set neck. How fat is the heel, and is it easy to access the higher frets? I've got a PRS jones lately and think I may eventually want one. I've actually never played one yet, but I've walked by a few in stores and just drooled over the wonderful shape of the bodies and gorgeous tops. Also, how is the Wide/Fat fingerboard compared to the Wide/Thin? I'm thinking I'd probably like the W/T more, but I can get used to just about any neck pretty quick. Re: PRS bolt-on vs. set neck
Fuck the PRS, get a Hamer instead! I played a CE about 10 years ago and it was actually pretty nice. I felt it was comparable to the standards I also played. However, since this was so long ago, it will probably have no bearing here. Seriously, Hamer. Think about it.

I thought about the LP Doublecut, and I've already got a Hamer Special FM. Just looking for something different in the never-ending GAS battle!

If you're gonna GAS, PRS is a great way to go IMHO (though I've not played any of the CEs). I've been kicking around the idea of picking up another one myself. The only thing that's stopping me is the price.Catapultam habeo. Nisi pecuniam omnem mihi dabis, ad caput tuum saxum immane mittam!

Re: PRS bolt-on vs. set neck
I own two CE 24's and a Custom 22. The 24's have a bit smaller hell than the 22's, but the only other difference is that CE's are bolted and Custom's are glued. Other than that there is really no other difference in the heel. As for the price I paid $800 each for my CE 24 and $1000 for my Custom 22 brand new at Guitar Center (I got lucky on the price).
I would recommend the CE 24 its the first one I pickup. 22's are fatter sounding.Damn, I love this Interweb.
