• Wolfgang Custom Shop Generator

Anyone ever spec out a Custom Shop Wolfie on Peavey's site and actually order one? Seems pretty cool that you can pick out fretboard material, inlays, binding and hardware color and, best of all, choice of body woods besides basswood! I've spec'ed one out, but have yet to order one. That generator is pretty cool. I seriously been thinking about picking up a wolfgang soon though.

kisekae set a the new fuckin trend.

soon every serious guitar maker site, just like every car maker website already does now, will have 'build your own xxx'

<font size="2" face="Verdana, Helvetica, sans-serif">So have I. The Custom Shop seems reasonable compared to the prices I've seen some of the stock ones go for brand new. I just wish they could be made with 24 frets, but not that big a deal.

toejam, I have a bud here who ordered a Custom Wolfie with a Mahogany body with a Koa top and an ebony board and the thing is smokin'. It has the smoothest tone I have ever heard from a Wolfgang. Not as rockin' as the original but a lot more refined. He paid some big bananas for it, but man is it sweet. Looks cool as hell, too.
If you're in the market for a custom I would seriously consider it.

Cool. Thanks, Jimmy! I may eventually order one with a mahogany body. I've never been crazy about the tone of basswood in general, so it's very nice to have different body wood options on that model. I also really love the body shape... like a three-way happened betwen a Strat, Tele and Les Paul and it inherited features from all of them.
