anybody recommend a good double neck?

I am considering picking up a double neck electric. It doesnt have to be new or USA made. And its got to fit in to a decent price range, like under $1000. Heres the catch, it CANT be one of those Epiphones. I can't stand the SG jimmy page look. Not gonna happen. So that limits my choices significantly I think. Does anyone know of anything electric doubleneck by a decent manufacturer?? I am not super picky, I just can't live with the SG style. The hard part is finding something you dont have to pay custom shop prices for as most of these guitars are custom shop peices. I really dont follow any other brands so I dont know who may have made these in the past or who may make them now. I know Ovation makes a nice korean double neck acoustic that is a quality intstrament for that price. But I need an electric. any ideas?? I would appreciate any help!! Thanks in advance.

I think Washburn has a decent price on theirs.There are a few on ebay if that helps.

Don't get a doubleneck unless you absolutely need it for live performance. Once the novelty wears off, you feel like an ass and they are hard to store. At least, this is what all my guitar playing friends who have bought doublenecks on whims tell me.

Keep it cheap...definitely.
*edit...just noticed you're NOT looking for an SG type). There's that Galveston PRS looking thing that keeps popping up on ebay doesn't look so bad either for the money (It's made by Samick).

Whatever you decide on...try to keep it under a grand.

I have a Rogue that was also probably Samick-made. It's the PRS-style body too and is really nice for a Korean-made guitar. Beautiful red sunburst, 2 set 24-fret necks, gold hardware and decent picups. Plenty good enough for the 1 or 2 songs you're gonna use it on because it's HEAVY!! Probably 15-20lbs. I'd guess.

The Danelectro doublenecks are usually real cheap, and they may be lighter. Just search Ebay under double-neck, doubleneck and double neck to get all the ones that are there.

How about this one.

-Custom Made by a lutier in Maryland I believe. (Can't find any info on the brand, but I have seen one other for sale on ebay)

-Warmoth necks with scroll headstock.

-EMG's all around 81 85 on the Six string and 85 89 on the twelve.

-Sprezel locking tuners all the way around.

-Mahogany body?

-Matching custom made wood case. (Heavy like Hell)

Get a Hades doubleneck! [img]images/icons/grin.gif[/img] It's my own little company...I have the guitars made at Samick and a few other overseas plants, and then take the time to tweak them up really well before they go back out. They're actually pretty nice once they're set up properly, especially for the money.
