• Dillion Guitar website? And SG copies

Someone here posted a Online store that held Dillion Guitars.

My friend is looking for a SG guitar. He wants to spend 400-500. what would you suggest?

This store has Dillion guitars, but no SG's. There is, however, a Jay Turser copy, but it has a "solid wood" body, which is entirely too cryptic a description to sell me on it.

Junior's Music

And there's always the Agiles. They seem to be sold out of the SG's right now.

Rondo Music

For 4-500, I would probably get an Epi, though.

Kramer has a SG copy in their US Collection:

How could I forget about MusicYo?! That's a good option too, I've heard mostly good things about their LP copy, at least. Their LP and SG shapes are basically the same as ESP's Eclipse and Viper shapes, respectively (I hope for RacerX's sake I didn't spell that wrong)... Probably made in the same factory in Korea.

I would save the extra few bucks, and get the Gibson SG Special Faded.

I wouldn't get a current Epiphone at all. The Jay Tursers are very hit or miss - some are pretty cool and others I've seen are complete crap.

Those Dillions at Junior's Music seem pretty expensive to me. I just couldn't see paying $500+ for a no-name guitar. You can get a cool Gibson SG used for just a little more.

Like these:

http://cgi.ebay.com/ws/eBayISAPI.dll...715793963&rd=1

I see that the Jay Turser SG would come in a little over $300 with a case. I suppose that's cheap enough. The Turser's I've seen have really cheap hardware and electronics so plan on dumping another $100-200 into it.

thanks for the input.

he's set on a Epiphone G400 Custom. just because it looks cool.

he's still new to guitars, and is ignorant.

i told him it's made out of plywood just to see what he says, and he didn't care.

oh well he's 14 years, what do you expect.
i tried.

you should tell him it is made of balsa wood - the same stuff they make those 99 cent toy airplanes out of

hehe.

i showed him the agile blue flame les paul and he wants it now.

i just hope that it doesn't fall apart.

i know some people here have it and say its pretty good.

do you think im going to fall into a mess?

<font size="2" face="Verdana, Helvetica, sans-serif">Well, like alot of guys here I have been avidly playing $1000 - $1500 Jacksons for the last few years. Just got 2 of the Agile guitars. Solid. Fit / Finish on par w/ import Schecters, import Fenders, etc and IMO MUCH BETTER than any Epiphone I have ever played / owned. Great value. These are the guitars I'm going to start recommending as beginner axes or just good / inexpensive axes when you want something different to fiddle with.

You made a good recommendation !
