ESP being ripped off is how the LTD range got started. A Korean manufacturer was making copies of their guitars in the very early 90's, especially the Metallica guitars of the time. ESP looked into it and set up a deal to make the guitars official. They were called Grassroots for some reason initially.

They've got a number of Jackson Dinky and Dinky/RG hybrid copies too, and even some Strat copies, so I guess they're defying everybody's trademarks.

But only in Japan and some other oversea countries.
Not available in the States.
That's why we have the LTDs instead.
