Hey, I remember those! My first brand-new electric was a Guild Rhoads copy. The store had one of those way up on the wall, in a black & white zebra graphic. This was around 1984.
I know of two of the RR guild copys are 1 is yellow and black (stryper) and a black and red bengal. Both are neck thru maybe set neck I don't remember both had Kahlers.
The Burnside by Guild never had Kahlers, they all had that elcheapo Korean thingamabob that looked like a Kahler. The RR copy was called "The Lance."............
I had one of these guitars in Candy apple red. I couldn't give it away!! (Prolly because it had a Kahler)...sorry to the Kahler fans...but you all know how a Kahler will kill the resale of ANY guitar.
I finally ate the loss and took $250.00 for it.
See Ken, you're wrong, because at $250 you DID give it away.
No offense taken; I love Kahlers but it's true it kills the resale in most cases.
Sometimes a few Kahler lovers will get on the auction though, and you get a decent price. Also, not-trem users don't mind them as much, because if you don't put the bar on it more or less acts as a tunomatic bridge, but with rollers instead of sharp saddles.
