• 1987 USA BC Rich ST3 review

I recently got this guitar from Jamie. 2 BC Rich (Dimarzio) singles and a Dimarzio Super Distortion in the bridge. Gotoh Floyd, 22 jumbo frets, 3 mini's (1 for each pickup), aluminum truss rod cover and trem cavity cover.
Body is alder I believe. The neck on this guitar is killer. It is unfinished and just oiled. It is very fast and very smooth. Fret work is perfect and the tone is very balanced with a touch more midrange than my Charvels (probably the pickup). The trem is blocked so it can only be pushed down. I have tons of full floaters and I wanted something different. The factory wiring and shielding is outstanding. I think the graphics are called Grafitti Abstract. These guitars are great value and outstanding players. Other similar models include the Asassin and the Gunslinger. For those of you who might be wondering if this is one of my pre-classifieds sales pitch's... it isn't. This one is not going anywhere.

LOOK GREAT, im glad. i honestly never even played the thing. When you have your JCF BBQ, ill bring some other Richs, Ill think youll be surprised how many minor differences there are on the earlier ones. BTW i now have b4160 & b4190, amaizing how these guitars feel identical but b7xxx (dont remember) is a different animal different neck/headstock transition the neck pocket has a more wood on the bass side, but not as much as that one. very cool to actually see these transitions. back in the day I just didnt pay attn to those little details.

It is an M-201. It needs a neck. The neck has too much relief in it and the truss rod is as tight as I can make it. It's ashame because it is a really super clean guitar that some idiot Korn kid put 13's on without a truss rod adjustment.

ahh, it's a bolt on. I see it now. That is similar to the MH-350 I wanted to trade you only the 350 is neck-thru.
