He got a prototype or something that he is trying out to see.
I have a neck through. Plays as well as my Soloists, with a similar feeling neck.. maybe a bit thicker though.
I got it after I played the Evergrey guitars.
They tune to G to imitate voicing on a 7 string....

<font size="2" face="Verdana, Helvetica, sans-serif"> That's a fun tuning. I've been trying that one for a little while now. Great for some occational doomy greatness.
It's a ***** trying to keep the guitar in tune that low, however.
Not if you set it up right. Most of the problems associated with heavy strings and downtuning are because the nut isn't cut wide enough. Fix that and most of your problems disappear.
True, very true. But I only have one electric guitar right now (planning on fixing that pretty soon here), and I mainly need it for standard tuning. So the nut slots are not to be widened.
Dude, I run my guitars using everything from 10's to 13's and haven't had a nut-slot related issue when it comes to wide slots. As long as they're smooth and burr-free, you're good. I can understand not wanting to mess with your only guitar though. If it isn't broke, don't fuck with it.
Yep - have been for a couple of years now (ProgPower 2 was the first time I got to play them)...
Tom just got his first Maple neck Caparison - loves it and says he is a maple guy from now on...
Anyway - someone earlier in the post had asked what guage they used for the G tuning... figured I'd ask the man himself.
Originally posted by Iced In Flames: I'm definitly wanting to get one. Mattias Eklundh from Freak Kitchen uses em. I've like to check out his model. Its pretty much a Horus but with the Applehorn carved into the body.
Dont forget Nils from Nocturnal Rites!!
And actually both guitarists from Evergrey use em. No one here ever heard of Dennis Stratton either?
<font size="2" face="Verdana, Helvetica, sans-serif">So it's basically a Scandinavian thing, innit. I've yet to see the first one over here in Belgium.
Of course I know Dennis Stratton. What's he up to nowadays?
