you could try and save money and then go and try out a Washburn WG587. I'm buying one at the end of this week, the neck is nice (kinda like a Jackson neck), decent hardware, sounds pretty cool and it's confortable to play. Should be able to get them pretty cheap.

here's what it looks like. It's not a very clear picture http://www.yoursound.lv/foto/6473washburn%20wg587.jpg

Well im not going to detune it because I then loose all of those high notes I love, that I why I want a 7. But I did some diggin on ebay, I can get the japanese made EDGE system w/dimarzio version for around 300. After playing the rhoads I cant justify trading something that plays so perfectly.

Its stupid because everyone just assumes im dumb, but I know A LOT about J/C, and I want about to trade it for a korean made ibanez( like i said in the post if you would have read the whole thing, I want the jap made Edge version with dimarzio's). I like Jacksons alot, but its a tool for means of self expression, and I need more notes! So telling me to downtune it means little because I loose all the high notes. I know what the heck im doing and if i wanted to trade my rhoads for an Ibanez then let me do it because its not your choice to make. Beleive it or not people IBANEZ actually makes a decent product (japan made), and the Jackson 7 strings suck, so their is the reason why I want the ibanez. I will get a Jackson USA custom shop 7 string, but those cost a lot more than 300$ right?! So f**k off!

My rhoads is also not worth as much as you think, I sanded the neck finish off and I bought it with previous damage, Those factors drop the price drastically.

But like I said I do love USA Jacksons--however having 24 frets and 7 strings is what I would prefer to have, so I will be saving my pennies, yall can stop crying IM NOT GOING TO TRADE IT.

Re: Thinking about trading my RR1 for.....

I'm a big proponent of 7 strings, rather than just downtuning a 6. I know you said you wouldn't trade it, and I'd agree with that.

As for a 7 string to play with, keep an eye peeled on evilBay - I won a Wasburn USA Sonic 7 for $400 last week. Far superior to the Ibanez - I actually think their 7 strings are the worst sounding on the market, with the exception of some of the Prestige line and the K7, because of the body beeing basswood. As JG said, no bottom - the B string just disappears.

Even the ash bodied ones, like the Schecter C7, sound a LOT better.
