  • BC Rich bass

I have been looking for a cheap beater bass to learn on. I finally picked one up on Ebay. All I know is what the auction says, but I feel that it is a pretty good deal, especially when you consider what I could have gotten new...namely import, plywood body, cheap hardware....Check it out. What do you think?

I just won it, so I will have to wait for it to arrive before i can comment, but it is supposedly in pretty good condition, although the body has some wear, mostly dings and chips which I am not concerned about.

Ouch, plywood. I really don't like plywood, especially not on a bass guitar.

Well, if it's ok for you, then fine.

Are you saying that this is plywood? If so, how can you tell?

I am the author, and that is not what i said. I was saying that for the price I paid, most new basses, would not have been of solid wood or have quality hardware. Most would have plywood bodies and crap hardware.

Cool score, Big D. If I'd have known you were looking for a bass, I could've delivered one to you in NY along with the Laney!

By the way, didja see my latest score?

                    Crank,

I wasn't really looking too hard if you know what I mean. I have been meaning to get a bass for at least a year or two. What did you pickup?

                    GF1,

Thanks. That was what I was thinking. The pup alone costs between $130-$180.

Even though, I like the shape, especially headstock.

Quick update from Ronz. He says that it is an Innovator bass.

I would have edited the previous post, but time ran out. Anyway, even though Ronz is the expert, I am not sure that this is an innovator. It is not the same body style as the innovators that I have seen. JCSguitars has a bass that looks similiar and he is calling that an STbass, which would make sense since it is similiar in shape to the ST3 guitar. I am guessing it is an STbass with a Pbass pickup, that was removed and routed for the Bartolini soapbar. If anyone has anymore info...let me know. Thanks.
