Well, I played about 20-25 different acoustic guitars over the plast month or so and finally narrowed my choice down to the Taylor 814-CE. My conclusion..... Really nice guitar...

Re: My New Acoustic is Here!
Thanks for the compliments on my new toy, Guys.... I have always wanted to buy my "last" acoustic guitar and I think this one is the one.
And Jack, to answer your question. Brand new they are running in the $2800 range. The one I bought is NOS from 2003 and I found a guy in Bronx, NY on the bay that is selling them $800-$1000 less than that. Nice guy with great feedback. I spoke with several previous buyers and they were all positive with their transaction so I figured what the hell......
Anyway, the wife thinks it only cost $1000.... So I will probably be moving a couple of my electrics in the near future to hedge this buy.
Look for it in Classifieds first, if I do.

Re: My New Acoustic is Here!
That should be a great guitar! I bought my Taylor 710 back in 1994 and I sure wish that they would have had the -14/Grand Auditorium body style back then, because I would have bought that instead of the dreadnought. You've got a guitar that is very versatile and can handle both flatpicking and fingerpicking very well.Takeoffs are optional but landings are mandatory.

Re: My New Acoustic is Here!
I do prefer the x10 Dreadnought shape over the x14 Grand Auditorium shape, but I love the 800 Series and do plan on getting an 810 Dreadnought and/or an 855 12-string jumbo sometime within the next few years. Congrats on the 814... the rosewood on those guitars is absolutely stunning.
