Two bolt les paul?

Alright lads.
A 70's Jap Les Paul copy Im after has a two bolt set neck. Its not like the Fender three bolt necks though, it looks like theres a tiny metal plate holding a set neck together. It looks just like a set neck, with a plate...
I hope this picture will work

Is this gonna fall in bits when I get it?

Crap! I thought it was 1 hour left, not 1 min!

Anyhow it went alot cheaper than the set neck ones that have been out there. Look at the pictures that show the inside of the neck pocket to see how it's held in there. Cool. [img]graemlins/toast.gif[/img]

Looks like a cutdown neckplate that was added for strenth or repair. I'd ask if that was original James. Nice top though.
White ones still a bolt on even if its hidden

To me theres nothing worse than flipping an LP and seeing a neckplate in the back [img]images/icons/shocked.gif[/img] [img]graemlins/nono.gif[/img] [img]images/icons/rolleyes.gif[/img] No matter how small it is. I mean ,its suppose to be a "copy"...Right!

Laminated body halves AND 3-pieces side to side? And check the neck heel - is that thing laminated as well?

Ive read up about them and they all seem to be bolt on, so I dont think its a repair. Although if it is - even better.
I mean its got a hard case and lead and strap (although I dont care about those), and I was gonna offer him £150 ($240ish) to end it early, which he seemed keen to do although I havnt told him that price yet.
I dunno, Ive looked at poorer ones, and this has a fancy (veneer) top, is from the seventies (I wanted one with that dusty old mojo [img]graemlins/laugh.gif[/img] ) and this has a case too and the guys willing to cancel if I make the right offer.

Just out of interest, when making an offer, should I make the initial offer what Im willing to pay, and if he says no, he says no; or should I start lower and meet him if he's higher? I mean I dont want to insult him...

Is it worth getting? To say its like that or an Epiphone at best... And Ive seen like three LPs with plain maple tops...
