• Question about strat neck and strat body copies

I'm bidding on this neck

http://cgi.ebay.com/ws/eBayISAPI.dll...tem=3725913591

and i was wondering if it would be compatible with Mighty Mighty Strat bodies?

http://cgi.ebay.com/ws/eBayISAPI.dll...725789234&rd=1

This one seems to be a reject. It's all pretty standard right?

http://cgi.ebay.com/ws/eBayISAPI.dll...725200563&rd=1

I think I'm better bidding on a body first and getting that ready then the neck though...

I wouldn't go over 90.00 on a MIM body in perfect shape.that one screams 75.00 to me.I buy a lot of these and thats my dollar limit on the MIM bodies.
Really? well screw Mark Twain.

They don't give a very good description of those Jackson style necks - are they maple?

Re: Question about strat neck and strat body copies

from what i can tell, all of their necks and bodies are mighty mite. they're just not that expensive. and yeah, i believe that those fretboards are rosewood and i think somewhere on their site, it says they're all eastern hard rock or canadian maple. those jackson necks and bodies may also be true 24 fret necks, which may solve the problem of finding a replacement neck for a 24 fret body.

i've never bought anything from them, and while the mighty mite stuff may not be as good as warmoth, (i think warmoth does a better job finishing them) for those prices, you really can't go too wrong.

i picked up a mighty mite guitar that's assembled to look like a 25th anniversary charvel (and no, there's no charvy logo on it!), and after i did the frets and adjusted the nut slots, it's a really nice playing and sounding guitar.

Re: Question about strat neck and strat body copies

I can't believe that's real MOP on those Jackson-style necks. I'll do a little research on that website, and if they ship to Canada, I'll buy up some parts and give a full review.

What I'd REALLY like is a 24-fret Strathead neck on a non-recessed Dinky-style body but I don't think I've seen one like that on the site before.

These are the people that make those Dragonfire guitars, are they not? The few topics on here about the Dragonfire/Dragonmountain/Dragonwhatever are not very optimistic.

Neckplates and neck screws aren't included, are they? Anybody have experience with the links Sully posted?

Re: Question about strat neck and strat body copies

I just got an e-mail back from them. I'll paraphrase it:

The Jackson-style necks and bodies are compatible with their Floyd Rose systems. THEIRS?!?!? Ooooookaaaayyy... I'm still gonna put an OFR in there though. Idiots.

The shipping price to Canada via USPS Airmail for one body, neck, and Floyd is more than it costs to ship a whole guitar to Canada from the USA. I won't disclose the price here, but if anybody's interested, send me a Private Message and I'll reply with the shipping price to Canada.

Suddenly I'm quite turned off.

Re: Question about strat neck and strat body copies

their floyds are mighty mite floyds, which i believe are made by takeuchi, who also makes floyds that are on jacksons. you can more than likely drop an ofr right in. however, since they only sell one kind with their bodies, i can understand why they wouldn't say that they'd be compatible with anything else that they may neither carry nor know the specs for.

i'd also guess that the inlays are plastic. sucks about the shipping, but i could imagine that shipping 3 things to you would cost more than one guitar; i'm guessing each thing is going to be at least $10 to canada, no?

These guys are in Klamath Falls, Or., so I don't know whats up with the shipping....

They do have a sweet looking flame maple topped cherry burst Strat thingy for fairly cheap....
