Look what I found in the trash!

On my way to a gig last night I spotted a headstock sticking out of a trash can on a sidestreet in my neighborhood. I pulled over, and couldn't believe my eyes...I was expecting maybe a Kay, Harmony, broken beyond repair, but damned if it wasn't a 1946 Gibson ES-150 {in the freakin' garbage!}. Aside from having a later {70's} engraved tailpiece, missing bridge, and the neck being shaved down, it's intact and original with no breaks or damage. I still can't believe someone would throw this away...

I knew a guy who found a 1957 Gibson LG1 w/OSSC in the garbage. I traded him a Westone for it, because he paid nothing for it, and didnt care, and of course he wanted the Westone............

Wow, that's is so great! How amazing is that?! The only thing I found, was a working univox amp that I used for about a year before it blew up [img]graemlins/laugh.gif[/img]

Congrats,

I had an ES120T a few years back (kind of like a lower budget version of that guitar in thinline) and it was a great guitar. I know it's not a Charvel and wasn't meant to be but those guitars just get great clean to slightly overdriven tones.

I belive the general rule here in chicago is, when you find something too good to be true in the trash, it is probably hot. Keep that one in the house where no one can see.
