Psycho: The name's Francis Sawyer, but everybody calls me Psycho. Any of you guys call me Francis, and I'll kill you.
Leon: Ooooooh.
Psycho: You just made the list, buddy. Also, I don't like no one touching my stuff. So just keep your meathooks off. If I catch any of you guys in my stuff, I'll kill you. And I don't like nobody touching me. Any of you homos touch me, and I'll kill you.

Re: GMW - To logo or not to logo....

To me, I dunno, any guitar without a logo seems a little...shady. Like, well, when GMW re-vamped my Carvin V, Lee refused to put a GMW logo on it. I dunno, I guess I understand his supposed not wanting to have it mistaken as a FULL GMW custom. I had the body graphic extended on the headstock and it looks cool enough, but something about not having ANY logo on it just doesn't feel right. Apparently he's not worried about his guitars being mistaken as logo-less Fender Strats, though, but hey, his business, his decision.

I'm almost 100% for "always logo".

That's one of the cool things about GMW, you could, if you wanted, have anything put on there, for a price. If you wanted to have the GMW logo resized, I'm sure that's no problem at all. If you want it inlaid, no problem. If you want to redesign one (as long as Lee approves, like he did with my GMW Scythe) no problem. If you want your name painted there, or an inlay of your naked girlfriend...again, it's probably no problem.

The point is, if YOU want some kind of something on the headstock, there's no reason you can't get SOMETHING on there, logo or not.

About not getting the logo because it's "ugly". Well, if you didn't dig the Jackson logo, and they demanded EVERY guitar MUST have it, would you forego getting the custom Jackson you always wanted because of that? The logo identifies the manufacturer--it doesn't brand you as "ugly logo lover".

And if you don't get a logo now, then "vintage" GMWs suddenly are worth $40,000 each, and they cost minimum $10,000 to make, you're sure gonna wish you had that logo on there if you needed to sell it hehehe. Which brings up the point that I'm confused as to why Lee wouldn't want to enforce logos on all of his guitars. Maybe he doesn't want there to be "too many" easily ID'able GMWs out there, in case they do become "valuable"? I dunno. Maybe he doesn't want the guitar with the easily identifiable graphic of someone famous to be on a logo'd, easily-identifiable GMW guitar? I dunno. He's not like ESP, of course, trying to sneak by. Re: GMW - To logo or not to logo....

I had mine logo'd and will have the next one logo'd as well. To me, no logo'd necks scream repair / placement or parts guitars. The only ones I wouldn't have logo'd would be if I got a replica of either of Richie Sambora's Charvels, as they had no logo either!
I agree the current GMW logo isn't fantastic, but it's not cheesy either, so go for it!

Maybe they should include a "Customize your own GMW logos" option. That will be very cool.

I wouldn't want the logo on a graphic headstock for sure.I would say if you're really worried about being able to ID the guitar later then another option is to have the neckplate engraved instead.

Re: GMW - To logo or not to logo....

That brings up a GOOD question. We're Jackson fans, here, right? The high end Jacksons are neck-throughs. So, it stands to reason in my mind, that, in general, we'd all prefer neck-through guitars. And Jackson's most known for their Custom Shop that can do ANYTHING you want. Same with GMW...they can do almost anything you want. And I'd assume the most of us would oogle over full blown custom guitars.

So...why is it that SO many people here seem to just get bolt-on GMWs with Strat headstocks and solid colors or rather commonplace or simple "star copy" graphics?

I mean...when I went to GMW, I was like--YEAH!--I can finally afford that full blown custom guitar I've always wanted, that I can't afford through the Jackson Custom Shop! Some of you guys have 2 or 3 of slightly different variations of basically the same GMW with a different paintjob. Why isn't anyone getting a full blown custom?

Not meaning to insult any of your guitars, don't take it that way. It's just something I've always wondered...

Stu, what kind of GMW did you get? Got any pics? I also figured that since I was going to GMW I was gonna go full blown custom and mine won't be like any other that I know of, and Lee won't do one just the same anymore because one of my options is no longer being offered.

logo it, it seperates it from the cheapo parts guitars. to the untrained eye its just another back routed hotrod strat. if thats what your going with.

& im still thinking over my custom....star or explorer?....just dont know
