  • Squier Strat Anniversary

Okay, the Thursday of 10th of almost here and I am about to pick up my first Stratocaster, made by Squier.

As some of you know, I'll be putting SD pickups in it, so I don't care much about pickups and wiring in first place.

I am much more interested in wood. I asked guys at Fender forum and they knew nothing about it. Actually, there was only one reply.
Maybe you can help me out. What's the body made of? Is it agathis or alder?

I have heard that agathis is more like of a second class wood for sound and my Jackson has alder body, so I want to keep the sound but I want to have something like Strat and single-coil sound.

    Anyone familiar with that?
    Thanks hundred times.

Then I would say possibly alder than, but I would ask Jim Shine he's the Fender guy here. I think I'm going to buy one of the $99 bullets, with a hardtail and 1 hum just to fuck with, those I know are plywood.

Some of the squier's are "laminated Tone Wood" AKA plywood

I think this one isn't, because I was said that anniversary models should be a little better than regular ones.

Anyway, the new costed app. 400 USD and I can get it for 150 USD.
