• Okay, LP experts, what do I have?

I bought it on Saturday at Atomic Music in College Park, MD. It was listed at $1899 and I got it at $1650. As soon as I saw it I knew that I was buying it. And that was before I picked it up to play it. It is unbelievable! The condition is EXC ++, very close to near mint. 1981, no?

a buddy of mine had one of those. he loved it.
atomic music eh?
with that info i would hope it is not a fake-lol
not that atomic people would pass anything off as a fake, they would just overpay for it and then take a bath when reselling it.
(inside joke fritz, i'll shut up now)

actually, there are not many of those, i thought they were more mid 80's but i don't know much.
Not helping the situation since 1965!

You have an 81' LesPaul custom with a changed tailpiece. If the Maple board is throwing you I've seen them before and from what I've seen they don't sell for as much as the Ebony. (The purists don't like them). It looks nice though and I actually like the Maple better because it's different.

the bridge and tailpiece are schaller and not original. actually the maple board will bring more $$$$$ as they aren't as common.

<font size="2" face="Verdana, Helvetica, sans-serif">I kinda figured that the maple neck and board would make it more rare. I bought this as a player, but with the hope that it would at least hold its value. I'll be selling my Charvel 25th to make room for this. My wife has agreed that I can buy all the guitars that I want as long as my collection does not exceed 6 guitars.

Are the pickup bezels original, or should I be looking for some gold ones?
