I'll post more detailed pics here when I get it.

Re: ESP "The Mirage" A great Guitar

I definitely agree that ESP made some fucking killer guitars in the late 80's/early 90's (I'm sure that their guitars nowadays are great too, overpriced though)!!

I've got an old "ESP The Mirage Custom". Neck-thru, ebony fretboard, licensed Floyd and I love it! It plays so good that I almost can't take my hands off it once I pick it up!

Re: ESP "The Mirage" A great Guitar

I've been playing this thing everday now and just CAN'T stop!

As for an update on a real Floyd. I'm trying to grime up my strings before i change them, then I will try to retrofit a Real Floyd.

I did set the real Floyd opposite the bunky ESP unit and it appears the Floyd lines up perfectly.
Perhaps this was well thought out so down the line there is not a couple thousand re-drilled ESP's like the San Dimas Charvel problem?

Whatever it was, this is the best guitar i have played since my Pre Pro Charvel and that was over 300 guitars ago..

Does anyone know the history of these weird looking ESP pickups? The bridge pickup measures an impressive 16K and just SCREAMS!
I know they are orignal to the guitar as I have an old George Lynch ESP add with a couple Mirage's and they also have these same 'pups.

A floyd will retrofit but you have to change the posts. Not the bushings, just the posts. Stewmac sells replacement floyd posts. I retrofitted all mine with floyds using these posts woth no problems at all. No info on the pickups.

Do you have a pick of the bridge. I may have parts for you. Used of course but I have a bunch of bridges sitting in a box.

Yes I have pic.
Not my guitar but same model (M-1 custom). I only need 3 of those little metal plates that go between sting lockdown hex "bolt" and saddle.

WOW! That M-1 Custom is killer too! I'm gonna have to go on a terror to aquire more of these old neckthrough ESP's.
Does anyone know if the nut width is the same on all the 80's neckthrough models?

Here's picture of my M-1 Custom, pic is rather crappy but who cares... Pic was taken by the guy who sold it to me. That explains dirty fretboard.

I had an M-1 a couple of years ago Tiger graphic very nice player. To be quite honest I have to give a big thumbs up to the LTD bunch in Korea because my trans purple neck thru MV 300 is a quality instrument all the way.Fit and finish are top shelf. And the EMG HZs actualy sound great. The neck on this guitar feels so good and the fret work is perfect.
Really? well screw Mark Twain.

While were on the subject of ESP guitars has anyone ever seen one of the L-2 ESPs?Its supposed to be a Lynch protoype reversed bananna type headstock 1 single in the neck 1 hum in the bridge 1 vol/push pull and an OFR.I read about these a long time ago.
